As the quarantine progresses, many businesses were forced to limit their operating hours, lay-off employees, and worst, permanently close. This results to millions of Filipinos being jobless which succeeds to Philippines’ economic decline. Included in this ripple effect is the gravely affected transportation industry.
Given the circumstances, JVR Foundation Inc. in partnership with Trimotors – Bajaj RE and K Servico launched to its first batch of beneficiaries the “TricyKab Livelihood Program.” It is a project intended to alleviate the socio-economic condition of the underprivileged urban poor through providing them an access to livelihood in the form of sustainable transportation – Bajaj RE three-wheelers. Ten (10) Bajaj RE units complete with Social Distancing Film (SDF) are initially awarded to TODA members and constituents of Manila City that is now under the leadership of Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso, this September 28, 2020 at Kartilya ng Katipunan, Ermita, Manila. Present in the event are the recipients, Mayor Isko, and MTPB/MTRO Director Mr. Dennis P. Viaje, as well as JVR Foundation Executive Director Ms. Gina Bulahagui.
The program is created in hopes of helping them generate more income for more financial stability in the time of economic slowdown. Additionally, Bajaj RE has always been in partnership with organizations in providing creative ways to support the vulnerable in the battle during the time of pandemic.
